Do the other organizations and institutions have obligations in the execution of intelligence activities?

In accordance with the provisions of Law 2937, Ministries and other public institutions and organizations are tasked

• to form the intelligence that their mission requires,
• to gather information and intelligence that can be requested by the MIT,
• to counter intelligence activities, and
• to immediately transfer information and intelligence that they acquire on national security to the MIT.

Moreover, the mentioned public institutions and organizations are obliged to provide the MIT personnel with any assistance and facilitation that they need during the execution of their mission.

On the other hand, in accordance with the Article 5 of the Law 2937, with the aim of coordinating the execution of the missions and obligations of Ministries and other public institutions and organizations and of managing intelligence activities, the National Intelligence Coordination Council (NICC) has been established, chaired by the Undersecretary of the MIT and composed of the Secretary General or Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council, the Director or Deputy Director of Intelligence of the General Staff, the undersecretaries of ministries, senior directors of institutions and organizations, the related directors of the MIT and other civil servants that could be invited by the Undersecretary of the MIT, convening every three months.
