What do you think about the people who have retired or resigned from the MIT, and published their memoirs of the years in service in the form of a book?

According to the Law no. 2937, which regulates the authority and the responsibilities of the MIT, any kind of information relating to the organization's duties and activities has been considered secret as a general principle. Article 27 of the concerning law stipulates any violation of the secrecy should be punished by a sentence of imprisonment.

All the MIT members are obliged to sign a written commitment in the presence of their superiors when they just start to work, resign, or get retired. This commitment once more reminds the MIT personnel of that they should keep the information they learnt in the course of duty, or the information which is related to the MIT as a secret, and in case they disclose this information either orally or in written form, they shall be subjected to prosecution under the related articles (articles 198 and 228) of Turkish Penal Code.

Therefore, it does not make any difference for the MIT whether the memoirs in question contains some criticism or praise, but the legal proceedings are started immediately . For the organization, the most important matter is the secrecy.

In addition, the disclosure of the source in the written memoirs will definitely make these people face with the fatal risk of danger.

Needless to say that people would never want to assist an intelligence organization which may cause them deciphered some day.
