What is the objective of the new reorganization within the MIT?
The decisive factor behind the new reorganization has been the understanding that information collection and intelligence production activities should be organized as a whole. In this framework, the position of “Deputy Undersecretary responsible for Technical Intelligence” has been established, replacing the position of “Deputy Undersecretary responsible for Operations”, while the previous positions of Deputy Undersecretaries responsible for “Administration” and “Intelligence” have been preserved. Thus, whole cycle of intelligence can be directed under the management of a single Deputy Undersecretary, within the cohesion of “collection” and “assessment”. As it was the case in the previous structure, administrative units are under the responsibility of a separate Deputy Undersecretary. All technical intelligence efforts are carried out under the related Deputy Undersecretary.
Furthermore, a “Supreme Board” has been set up so as to carry out appointments and promotions on objective criteria. |
