Adnan ERSOZ (1917 - 1991)

He is a graduate of the War Academy. After serving at various ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces to which he had joined as Second-Lieutenant in 1936, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 1963. He served as Brigadier General between the years 1963-1965, as Major General between 1965-1969, as Lieutenant General between 1969-1973, and as Army General between 1973-1977. On July 13, 1978, being a retired Army General, he was appointed as the Undersecretary of the National Intelligence Organization. On November 19, 1979 he resigned and served at the Consultation Assembly formed after September 12, 1980. On October 13, 1991 he lost his life as a result of the armed attack of terrorists at his house in Istanbul.
