He is a graduate of the
War Academy. During his military lifetime which he started as an
Infantry Second-Lieutenant, he has served at different posts both
in and outside the country. Then, in 1971, he was appointed as the
Head of the Teaching Board of the War Academy under the rank of
Brigadier General. Later on, he served as the Commander of the 6th
Armored Brigade. During the term between July 26, 1973 - February
27, 1974 he served as the Head of the MAH and as the Deputy Undersecretary
at the MIT. In the following years, he was appointed as the Commander
of the 19th Infantry Division and served as the Head
of the Counter-Intelligence Department of the General Staff. During
the term between November 19, 1979 - September 07, 1981 he served
as the Undersecretary of the MIT under the rank of Lieutenant General,
and then was appointed as the 6th Corps Commander. In
1983, he retired from the Turkish Armed Forces as Lieutenant General.
