He was born in 1927. He is a graduate of the War Academy.
After serving at various ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces to which he had joined
as Second-Lieutenant in 1947, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General
in 1972. He served as Brigadier General during 1972-1976 and as Major General
during 1976-1980. In 1980, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
During September 07, 1981 - August 14, 1986 he served as the Undersecretary
of the National Intelligence Organization. In 1986, he was promoted to the rank
of Army General and was appointed as the Commander of the 2nd Army.
Finally, in 1988 he was assigned as the Commander General of the Gendarmerie
and retired in 1990.
