He was born in 1936. He is a graduate of the War Academy.
After serving at various ranks of the Turkish Armed Forces to which he had joined
as Second-Lieutenant in 1956, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General
in 1981. He served as Brigadier General during 1981-1985 and as Major General
during 1985-1989. Then, on August 29, 1988 he was appointed as the Undersecretary
of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization. He became Lieutenant General
in 1989 during his post as the Undersecretary which he kept until August 27,
1992. Then, he was appointed to Gelibolu as the Corps Commander. In 1993, he
was promoted to the rank of Army General and was appointed as the Commander
of the 3rd Army. In 1995, he was assigned as the Commander General
of the Gendarmerie and retired in 1997.
