He was born in Diyarbakir in 1942 and graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University. He is married. He started to work at the National Intelligence Organization in 1967 and executed important duties in various ranks that fall in the mandate of the Organization. Following his performance as the Bursa Regional Department Head, he served as the Istanbul Regional Department Head from 1984 to 1986. He became the Head of Intelligence Department in 1987 and the Deputy Undersecretary in 1992 and was appointed to a foreign mission in 1994. He had been the Deputy Undersecretary for Operations since 07.04.1999 and was appointed the Undersecretary of MIT on 15.06.2005. He retired from his position as Undersecretary of MIT on 26.05.2010.
