Emin COBANOGLU (1901-1983)
Emin COBANOGLU, who was born in Seres in 1901, graduated from the
War College. He worked at various ranks within the Turkish Armed
Forces and joined the Directorate of National Security Service (MAH)
on August 27, 1954 with the rank of Staff Colonel. While working
for the MAH, Emin COBANOGLU resigned from the Turkish Armed Forces
and served at various positions. On March 27, 1957 he was appointed
as the Acting Director of the MAH to replace Behcet TURKMEN.
Emin COBANOGLU remained at this post until April 18, 1957 when the Acting Prime
Ministry Undersecretary Ahmet Salih KORUR took over this office, but when Ahmet
Salih KORUR left office on September 23, 1957, Emin COBANOGLU was again appointed
as the Acting Director of the MAH.
Emin COBANOGLU remained at this post until November 21, 1957. Upon the appointment
of Huseyin Avni GOKTURK as the Director of the MAH, Emin COBANOGLU continued
to work for the Service as "Expert Advisor" and retired on July 18,1960.
Emin COBANOGLU, who spoke French and Greek, died in 1983.
