Hüseyin Avni GÖKTÜRK (1901-1983)

  Hüseyin Avni GÖKTÜRK, who was born in Nigde in 1901, graduated from the Faculty of Law in Istanbul in 1927. He received a master's degree from the Faculty of Law in Geneva, a doctor's degree from the Faculty of Law in Berlin and then

Hüseyin Avni GÖKTÜRK worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in Ankara and became a professor in 1940. In 1946 he was appointed as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor. During the period of 1954-1957 he was a Deputy in the Parliament and throughout the same period he was appointed as Minister of Justice and for a period of five months also as Acting Minister of Internal Affairs.

At the end of his term as Deputy, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Avni GÖKTÜRK was appointed as Director of the National Security Service (MAH) on November 20, 1957 and remained in this post until July 21, 1959, when he was elected to the Executive Board of the Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi (Industrial Development Bank).

Between 1966-1975, Hüseyin Avni GÖKTÜRK again joined the Parliament as a Senator from Nigde and died in 1983.
