He is a graduate of the
Naval Academy. He served at various ranks in the Naval Forces Command
to which he had joined as Naval Second-Lieutenant in 1933, and was
promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in 1960. In the same year,
he served as the Acting Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces Command,
and in 1961 he was appointed as the Acting Commander of the Straits
and Marmara Naval Corps. In 1964, under the rank of Vice-Admiral,
he became the Commander of the Navy, in 1966 became the Head of
the Intelligence Department of the General Staff, and on October
1, 1966 retired as Vice-Admiral with his own consent. Then, on February
28, 1974 he was appointed as the Undersecretary of the MIT. He died
on September 26, 1974 of a heart attack.
